Imix is here today (Mayan Daykeeper)

The essence of Imix is the beginning of a cycle. The start of one dividing into many & yet still being part of the one. Imix is the one.

Ok so Imix has brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days.  To keep things interesting I am going to work with another 20 cycle teaching I have had, called the 20 Count or Earth Count. Let’s see how the two cycles interconnect.

In shamanism we work with medicine wheels of knowledge, which all interconnect. So when you lay the wheels one onto of the other and look at what’s in a direction, you will see they connect and that gives us more knowledge about both. For example most people have noticed how emotionally evocative music is. Well the both sit in the south of their respective medicine wheels. So for me I use this knowledge by paying attention to what I play and when. If I’m having a challenging day well I play music that is upbeat. If I’m on top of the world then I can listen to music like ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ by Bruce Springsteen, love the song, but saaaad.

Working with these two wheels that are both teachings from a similar part of the world but different spiritual streams will be interesting I think.

1 – Sun     and     1 – Imix

The sun is the catalyst for life the beginning of a cycle, well according to NASA. I know the sun breathes new life into me, being born in sunny South Africa, my cells start doing a happy dance as our sunlight increases, and I look forward to my beach days all year long. So I am very happy at the moment with our lovely long warm sunny days, may they continue. So I think yes, these two interconnect.

Imix often manifests in human reality as the ability
to remain in the present moment without concern for the past and future.
It can be recognized as a clear link to that which lies beyond the mundane.
Imix offers the ability to transcend time
and to refrain from having time oriented desires.

On a Imix day you may want to be less structured.
Make time for yourself that is free from previous commitments and obligations.
This is an opportune day to discover from within
what you truly want and where you truly want to go in your life.
It is a day to acknowledge that which lies beyond time.

People who are born on a Imix day are often dreamers
that lack the desire to succeed in more materialistic accomplishments.
They often come up with new ideas that others bring to manifestation.
