Lamat’s essence is the creative process in all forms.

8 – Lamat     and     8 – All natural laws and the circle of law. Mother earth sculpts the substance and body of everything that lives with her Sacred and Natural laws. This is what guides the forming of everything that is in the future. (Hyemeyohsts Storm’s Earth Count)

So the eight is about creativity on every scale, from a piece of art to the environment. Every action has a reaction and this is the creative process. When I have a blank canvas nothing is created until that first stroke with the brush, then each concurrent stroke effects the eventual outcome of what I create. This is why I love mixed media, it is so forgiving, when I make a mistake which is inevitable, I can change it.
