Beaver Birth Animal Totem ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Ben

Beaver Birth Animal Totem: April 20 – May 20

Beavers teach about:
~ Building and creating lives that we want
~ They teach that you can create the self-concepts that you desire
~ They also teach that you have to act on your dreams to make them a reality
~ The importance of protecting home and family
~ The den of the beaver resembles a womb space so the beaver can help women go within for the teachings of the feminine
~ People with strong masculine energies & a beaver totem often have special gifts working with women
~ While beavers appear lucky the truth is that their luck is the result of hard work
~ They are grounded and strong
~ They tend to only change out of necessity
~ They are loyal, stable and keep all relationships clean and pure
~ They are practical yet have an ‘eye’ for beauty
~ They give any projects they are involved in (and people they are involved with) a firm footing as part of their stability
~ They key in their spiritual pursuits is their grounded stability
~ They are able to create structures that are stable, strong and can’t be destroyed
~ They enjoy peace and security and make deliberate changes slowly
~ When change is necessary however, they invest all their energies into that change
~ They must be aware of their stubbornness which is born of an ability to accept things as they are
~ The beaver takes all relationships seriously and it brings them contentment

~ Help you walk in balance
~ Shows you your heart capacity for love, the nature of your heart
~ How to express emotions and feel them
~ Helps you to be in the present moment emotionally, so you are present and not in past history

When we walk in balance we are connected to reality, the present moment. When out of balance we are in our personal history, living in the past or fantasizing about the future

Animal totems are numerous and varied, beliefs about how many we have and what they do, are just as varied. I present what I have been taught and experienced. Trance drum journeys are a way to find your animal totems, be it just one or many. I facilitate drum journeys. Should you be interested in doing one, contact me & we’ll set up an appointment for this magickal experience.

So what are Totem Animals and why would you even want one? Animal Totems are animal spirit allies, on your journey in this lifetime. They give you advice when asked for, and answer questions you have. They can support you when you’re scared, help empower you, clarify things, show you the next step in your healing journey, walk with you as a trusted companion and more. There are 9 Animal Totems, one in the centre and 8 around your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel. Are they real animal spirits? Well I don’t think it matters one iota if they are or aren’t, what you imagine you create. Whatever you believe and experience is your truth. It is the wisdom & knowledge you get from them that matters, not whether you believe that it’s an animal spirit or a part of your own psyche.

Mayan Daykeeper Ben ~ The essence of Ben is our connection to our ancestral lines. Ben is that feeling of family, the warm cozy one. I know that is not true for all of you, however families are created in many ways, through blood, through choice, through friendship.  In all cases you have an opportunity to learn from your interactions with your families.  Ben holds the energy of interdependent family relationships not co-dependent ones.

Ben expresses in the human experience as
the awareness of family, including both ancestors and
the future potential of the family.

On a Ben day, there may be a general focus on the family
or other dependent relationships.
You may feel more intimate with others around you.
Be careful not to engage those close to you in obsolete family patterns.

Those born with Ben as their Daykeeper
are often responsible and devoted family members.
They may assume the responsibility of being the caretaker of the family

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. If something resonates great, if not chuck it out. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey and manifesting what you want.
