Flicker Birth Animal Totem~ Today’s Daykeeper Kib

Flicker Birth Animal Totem:  June 21 – July 22

A member of the woodpecker family flicker is often called the “little awakener” as it taps and drums in its search for food. It lives in a variety of woodland habitats, makes its nests in holes in dead trees and is very particular about the cleanliness of its home. Its feet are different than most birds having two toes in front and two in the back, which allows it to balance and move up and down on the sides of trees

Flickers teach about:
~ Having the right tools for you to maintain balance
~ Awakening the knowledge you already possess and activating latent talents and intuition
~ The rhythm of their drumming can teach you to align with the heart beat of nature and is a reminder that you have the ability to connect with realms other than physical
~ Flickers also help you to connect with the ancestors and the little people with their rhythmic tapping and drumming, and show you how to stay in balance and move with confidence when new rhythms are developing in your life
~ Flicker people are home oriented and are excellent in emergencies
~ They are loving, solid and stable yet have a wild quality about them and love natural settings
~ They are thoughtful and emotionally balanced
~ Their challenge when out of balance is independent thought and action
~ When balanced they are sensitive make good decisions and follow-through
~ Flicker experiences deep emotions that are ever shifting
~ Relationships are important part of their stability, contributing to their emotional stability
~ Flickers also like to be with others in their mystical pursuits and they devote themselves fully
~ They not only desire a family but a like-minded spiritual family they can be of service to
~ In their harmony they are free to pursue and discover their mystical pursuits

BIRTH ANIMALS:
~ Help you walk in balance
~ Shows you your heart capacity for love, the nature of your heart
~ How to express emotions and feel them
~ Helps you to be in the present moment emotionally, so you are present and not in past history

When we walk in balance we are connected to reality, the present moment. When out of balance we are in our personal history, living in the past or fantasizing about the future

Animal totems are numerous and varied, beliefs about how many we have and what they do, are just as varied. I present what I have been taught and experienced. Trance drum journeys are a way to find your animal totems, be it just one or many. I facilitate drum journeys. Should you be interested in doing one, contact me & we’ll set up an appointment for this magickal experience.

So what are Totem Animals and why would you even want one? Animal Totems are animal spirit allies, on your journey in this lifetime. They give you advice when asked for, and answer questions you have. They can support you when you’re scared, help empower you, clarify things, show you the next step in your healing journey, walk with you as a trusted companion and more. There are 9 Animal Totems, one in the centre and 8 around your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel. Are they real animal spirits? Well I don’t think it matters one iota if they are or aren’t, what you imagine you create. Whatever you believe and experience is your truth. It is the wisdom & knowledge you get from them that matters, not whether you believe that it’s an animal spirit or a part of your own psyche.

Mayan Daykeeper Kib ~ Kib’s essence is solitude.

You may experience Kib as the need for solitude or the desire for separation.
Being alone is often necessary to unwind
from intimate or entangled interactions with others.
Kib’s gifts are given to those that can be alone with themselves.

On a day with Kib as Daykeeper,
you may want to find time to be by yourself
or focus on what you can do by yourself alone.
It is an opportune time to separate yourself
from people and things that no longer serve your current needs.
You may feel much better after bringing certain things to a final conclusion.

People born on a Kib day often experience
their most profound revelations in solitude and usually work best alone.
Even in the presence of others
they are able to maintain an independent awareness of self.

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. If something resonates great, if not chuck it out. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey and manifesting what you want.
