Mayan Daykeeper Imix has brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days.
I was talking with a friend the other day, and she was surprised that I thought people were getting kinder in the wake of what is going on in the country next door. She did not perceive that to be true, but hoped I was right as it would shift how she feels about the world and humanity as a whole. So this cycle I thought we could look at the kinder side of life, and see if my belief in humanity is valid or if I’m just too wildly optimistic. Which is hilarious considering that depression has been walking with me for most of my life.
I choose to not watch mainstream media habitually, it makes me feel overwhelmed, hopeless and angry. It has been suggested that I am hiding my head in the sand, and that is technically true. However I do it to maintain balance within myself. Anything of importance always gets told to me by someone, and once in awhile I check in, get disgusted and thats it for another period of media respite.
Knowing what I do about how every emotion affects us, I believe I am doing my due diligence to maintain my health, while still making sure that I get a heads up if the apocalypse is upon us.
