Deer Birth Totem Animal ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Men

Deer Birth Totem Animal: May 21 – June 20

Deer teaches us about:
~ The gifts of the deer include the ability to open to your intuition, and to pay more attention to your inner dialogue & how you perceive the world
~ They teach you how to recognize your negative patterns and move out of them quickly
~ How to walk in the world gently and yet powerfully
~ They remind you of your own magickal gifts & abilities
~ Deer love beauty in all forms
~ They are multitalented and versatile
~ Deer people have lots of energy
~ They have quick flexible minds
~ They make good healers
~ Deer are graceful and alert
~ They are sensitive, but it takes them time to open up to emotions that are more personal
~ Sometimes listening to others is a challenge and may interrupt frequently
~ Deer are clever, resourceful and creative
~ Deer people are enthusiastic and get others involved
~ The deer’s challenge is consistency in life and relationships

BIRTH ANIMALS:
~ Help you walk in balance
~ Shows you your heart capacity for love, the nature of your heart
~ How to express emotions and feel them
~ Helps you to be in the present moment emotionally, so you are present and not in past history

When we walk in balance we are connected to reality, the present moment. When out of balance we are in our personal history, living in the past or fantasizing about the future

Here’s a link to deerworlds.com which has a plethora of info on deer. The one area not covered is that deer are not only male & female but have a range of genders. Here’s a easy to understand article on the Missouri Dept. of Conservation website around this issue.

animals, animal totems, birth animal totem, animal totem medicine wheel, deer, mayan daykeeper men, vision of the future, a new goal, abundance, achieve, insight, healing through ceremony, michele fire-river heart

On Gabriola we have a huge amount of deer. I wonder if the deers energy contributes to the gentleness found here, and the large quantity of healing practitioners and modalities?

Just take a look at the Gabriola Healing Arts website, a smattering of what’s offered right here. Truly remarkable for a community of just over 4000 people.

Animal totems are numerous and varied, beliefs about how many we have and what they do, are just as varied. I present what I have been taught and experienced. Trance drum journeys are a way to find your animal totems, be it just one or many. I facilitate drum journeys. Should you be interested in doing one, contact me & we’ll set up an appointment for this magickal experience.

So what are Totem Animals and why would you even want one? Animal Totems are animal spirit allies, on your journey in this lifetime. They give you advice when asked for, and answer questions you have. They can support you when you’re scared, help empower you, clarify things, show you the next step in your healing journey, walk with you as a trusted companion and more. There are 9 Animal Totems, one in the centre and 8 around your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel. Are they real animal spirits? Well I don’t think it matters one iota if they are or aren’t, what you imagine you create. Whatever you believe and experience is your truth. It is the wisdom & knowledge you get from them that matters, not whether you believe that it’s an animal spirit or a part of your own psyche.

Mayan Daykeeper Men ~ The essence of Men, is fundamentally having the ability to envision, focus and manifest an abundant life in all aspects.

Men often manifests as a new idea or vision.
With this comes the ability to recognize a new goal or desire
and opportunities not apparent to others.
Men may visit you with a clear vision
of your potential for wealth and well-being.

On Men’s day, you can benefit by visualizing your true desires.
Be open to new ideas and unexpected insights.
Take the steps to advance your wealth and well-being.

Those born with Men as their Daykeeper
are natural producers and visionaries.
They can envision and bring together
the resources needed for the manifestation
of something larger than themselves,
something that involves the work and input of many people.

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. If something resonates great, if not chuck it out. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey and manifesting what you want.

On Sept 21st Mayan Daykeeper Imix brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days. This cycle we are looking at creation through imagination. The relevant daily information on today’s Mayan Daykeeper is below todays musings.

We are creators of our lives, what we imagine we create.

We are looking at ‘The Twelve Imaginings’. The were given to Hyemeyohsts Storm by Estcheemah. She was a Zero Chief. Hyemeyohsts wrote these down in his book Lightningbolt. What is a Zero Chief? My understanding is the Zero chiefs were a secret group of people that keep the spiritual & healing knowledge of the Native Americans when it needed to go underground, to preserve it and keep it safe due to colonization. Now I could be wrong, but there it is, make of it what you will.

We will do an imagining a day for 2 days. On the third day I will add an imagining of my own. You are invited to add imaginings of  your own in the comments section on any day. On the 20th day of the cycle I will list all the imaginings that have been submitted.

The 9th Imagining: I imagine that I am my own Authority and my own Teacher

I invite you to sit with this imagining, and see what it means to you.

Here’s some of what it means to me:
~ I take responsibility for my life &  what I create
~ No more blame game
~ I am empowered with the ability to change my life
~ There is no limit to what I can learn & experience
~ I am always ‘At Choice’, what will I choose today?

Mayan Daykeeper Ix ~ The essence of Ix is the ability of  the spiritual realm to communicate in the physical realm. An ability to communicate in both.

Ix may manifest as an awareness of spirit
and what may be considered supernatural.

On an Ix day, you may want to be more open
to messages from the spirit world.
It is a good day to contemplate who you are
in dimensions of life other than just the material and physical.

Those born on an Ix day
have the ability to perceive the spirit within.
They can respond to this spirit
and receive it’s communication while in the physical world.

The Interconnection of Fear & Sweet Medicine (Collective consciousness of animals) ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Ix

Your interpretation and experience of these energies is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to explore what they mean to you and their relevance in your life. This is really important. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey.

This cycle I am looking at the interconnection between The Twenty Great Teachers of Life and The Earth Count. Let’s see what their interconnection has to teach us. The relevant daily information on each energy is below todays musings.

The Interconnection of Fear & Sweet Medicine (Collective Consciousness of Animals) ~ Animals are such wonderful mirrors for fear. When they are physically at risk, their reaction is immediate. However I imagine they do not sit and worry about what might happen next to put them at risk again. That said you can see that they learn from it. We know this, due to the fact that where there is no human interaction with wild animals they do not go on alert when we are around. Unfortunately we are the threat to so many animals.

If you have a totem animal, I invite you to engage with it, and ask it questions around fear that would help your life walk. If not just observe an animal you have an affinity for and see what their naturalness is around fear. Animals offer us a mirror of fear in balance.

Couldn’t resist this photo, no question if these animals are in fear or not! Love it.

14 – The Teacher of Fear
Fear teaches us about the unknown

Fear is a part of life, it warns you of danger, but it can also inhibit growth and stop you from living fully. When fear is no longer a tool to keep you safe, but rather the driving principle behind something, well, you can do all kinds of things we normally would not do, and you can become stuck and unable to move forward. The tricky part in your healing journey is recognizing what the fear is, sometimes we cannot see it ourselves. This is where engaging with another person that will hold a space for your healing work, quite often will help you flush it out, so you can then address it. When you push through your fear into the unknown, empowerment awaits.

Now fear is a tricky thing. Once I jumped off a 30 foot cliff into a lake, I was afraid to jump, but behind that was my attachment to my mate at the time. I wanted to look courageous to his friends that I had just met. So because I was not addressing the fear that I should have been …. being myself no matter who I had just met, I did something that I was afraid of, and let me tell you I hated it. I pushed through a fear, but there was  no empowerment there. The empowerment would have come if I had not jumped.

I allowed my fear of feeling to keep me trapped in addiction and in relationships that didn’t work anymore. I allowed my fear of not having enough money keep me in jobs that were destroying my body and soul. When I pushed through those fears, wow it was huge, I felt like Wonder Woman. Any time I allow fear to control me, I loose power and self esteem. I now know how to push through fear, and that staying stuck in the fear will be worse than the unknown. There is one area of my life where I have unaddressed fear, I am aware of it, and writing this blog has put it front and centre for me. Dang! What I am doing with it is addressing it slowly, it is a big one, and I’m doing the best I can right now. That said, more often than not the ‘power moments’ that I have had in my life, have one thing in common, I pushed through fear.

Where is fear keeping you stuck?
Where have you pushed through fear?
What did you learn from each?

So let’s simplify that down to ‘The Collective Consciousness of the Animals’. I hear something coming from under my deck, just a second. Oh how blessed am I? I have a young deer family making a home under my deck. Check out the video I just made of them below. Aaaah what an incredible way to start a day.

Now back to the 14. I read the essence of Ix and got no connection, I have just reread the description below and eh viola interconnection. I’m not retyping it, go ahead and read it below. Done? Ok so I get that I walk a shamanic pathway, but what just happened to me with the deer, for me is a message from spirit. A Medicine Sign if you will. Now not every deer I see is wooooo ‘A sign’, one uses discernment when interpreting whether something is a medicine sign or not. I get an intuitive hit, to look at what that particular animal means and it’s relationship to my life at present. What lessons are being offered, what do I need to see and hear to move forward with a greater understanding of myself and how I am living my life? This intuitive hit can sometimes be perceived as a moment when something captures your attention for no apparent reason. You are drawn to look closer or investigate aspects of the animal, and yes this includes the human animal. As you go about your day I invite you to play with this. Have a powerful medicine sign day, it’s Sunday, go play.

Mayan Daykeeper Ben

The essence of Ben is our connection to our ancestral lines. Ben is that feeling of family, the warm cozy one. I know that is not true for all of you, however families are created in many ways, through blood, through choice, through friendship.  In all cases you have an opportunity to learn from your interactions with your families.  Ben holds the energy of interdependent family relationships not co-dependent ones.

In shamanism we believe what we do in this lifetime affects the 7 generations that came before & the 7 generations that are still to come. I invite you to recapitulate to remember members of your lineage that have/are making a positive impact in your life? Which members of your family have/are you impacting in a positive way?

mayan, daykeeper, ben, family, offspring, kin, kindred, responsibility, interdependent, support, clan, devotion, kin, intimate, healing through ceremony, michele fire-river heart

As with all things find your own truth. What resonates use, what doesn’t discard.

If you have been following my blog the information below is a repeat from our last Ben day, Wednesday 26th April.

Ben expresses in the human experience as
the awareness of family, including both ancestors and
the future potential of the family.
On a Ben day, there may be a general focus on the family
or other dependent relationships.
You may feel more intimate with others around you.
Be careful not to engage those close to you in obsolete family patterns.

Those born with Ben as their Daykeeper
are often responsible and devoted family members.
They may assume the responsibility of being the caretaker of the family.

THE MAYAN DAYKEEPERS

The Mayan Daykeepers are spiritual beings with an archetypal energy within cycles of the Tzol’Kin or Mayan astrology. There are 20 Daykeepers each one presenting different energies & assigned to be present on certain days of the year. Rotating in a twenty day cycle.

I have found that having an awareness of which Daykeeper is present on any particular day, informs me about the active energy present that day. In this way I have more ease, fluidity & healing in my journey.

I offer a snipit of the knowledge presented in the book Mayan Calendar Voice of the Galaxy by Raymond Mardyks and Stacia Alana-Leah. They present comprehensive information on the way the calendar works, the energetics of the Daykeepers, the iconography of each Daykeeper, the symbol of each Daykeeper, meditations with the Daykeepers, as well as your personal birth Daykeeper.

Mayan Calendar Voice of the Galaxy by Raymond Mardyks and Stacia Alana-Leah

Their book is wonderful, it provides indepth information on the Mayan calendar & the Mayan Daykeepers & is for sale through many avenues, just Google it.

Mayan Daykeeper Kimi

The essence of Kimi is death of the physical body in this lifetime. Kimi invites us to look at all aspects of death. Make death an ally, rather than an unknown fear. Death & rebirth happens every day to us, in the form of skin cells for one. Death of ideas, habits, beliefs that no longer serve you. You may wish to look at traditions like ‘The Day of the Dead’, honouring and connecting with your sacred ancestors in spirit. Or set your intent just to have an awareness of death today, and see what arises.

mayan, daykeeper, Kimi, ancestors, cemetery, death, funeral, deer antlers, ferns, healing through ceremony, michele fire-river heart

If you have been following my blog the information below is a repeat from our last Kimi day Wednesday 19th April.

As with all things find your own truth. What resonates keep, what doesn’t discard.

Those affected by Kimi’s presence may be aware of ancestors,
both their own and those of others.
Kimi may bring to your awareness the immortal spirit
within and beyond the human body.

On Kimi days, you may choose to remember ancestors,
appreciate what has been passed on to you
and remember that a part of you lives on forever.

Those born with Kimi as their Daykeeper
are capable of clarifying the meaning and purpose of death
through discovering the gifts of humanity’s ancestors.
They respect those that have gone before them
and often give voice to those whose voices are no longer heard.

I chose this beautiful Pieris Japonica as today’s photo because of the way it’s new leaves come out red and then transition to green. For me it’s a wonderful metaphor for using our intuition. When starting to work with our intuition we “Flame on our intuition”. The more we practice the more it becomes part of our nature. Residing in our heart space, our 4th chakra which is represented by the colour green.
