Centre Power Animal Totem ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Imix

Mayan Daykeeper Imix has brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days. This cycle we will be looking at animal totems. The relevant daily information on today’s Mayan Daykeeper is below todays musings.

Animal totems are numerous and varied, beliefs about how many we have and what they do, are just as varied. I will present what I have been taught and experienced. Trance drum journeys are a way to find your animal totems, be it just one or many. I facilitate drum journeys. Should you be interested in doing one, contact me & we’ll set up an appointment for this magickal experience.

So what are Totem Animals and why would you even want one? Animal Totems are animal spirit allies, on your journey in this lifetime. They give you advice when asked for, and answer questions you have. They can support you when you’re scared, help empower you, clarify things, show you the next step in your healing journey, walk with you as a trusted companion and more. There are 9 Animal Totems, one in the centre and 8 around your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel. Are they real animal spirits? Well I don’t think it matters one iota if they are or aren’t, what you imagine you create. Whatever you believe and experience is your truth. It is the wisdom & knowledge you get from them that matters, not whether you believe that it’s an animal spirit or a part of your own psyche.

CENTER POWER ANIMAL TOTEM
This is from my perspective the most important animal totem. It is the first one you get through a Trance Drum Journey and for good reason. Your centre power animal sits in the Centre of your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel, it is the animal you are most like in this lifetime and also brings you 7 of the 8 others that sit around your wheel. The exception is your Birth Totem Animal which is given and follows the same date line as traditional astrology. i.e. all Libra’s will have the same Birth Animal Totem. I will be doing all twelve in our next 20 day cycle.

Your Centre Power Animal’s skills, gifts and abilities mirror your own, whether they are present now or not. They illuminate things that are part of your naturalness. The traits of your Power Animal can sometimes be quite surprising and may not seem like you at all. Some traits may be present in you, others may have been lost during this lifetimes journey in your quest to survive. Knowing what your naturalness is, makes all the difference. Now you get to choose whether you bring them back in or not.

For example the dolphin is my centre power animal. What are dolphins like? Community minded, playful, gregarious, co-operative, inquisitive, intelligent, very good at using the breath and more. Now at the time I found my dolphin totem I was definitely not playful, gregarious, co-operative, enjoyed community or breathed in a healthy way. What the dolphin’s naturalness taught me was that to be the best most healed self I can be, I needed to bring these things into my life. I would then become more balanced and much happier. Well 13 years later, I am still improving on some aspects of these things, and may be for awhile longer. I am however, healthier and happier, and doing the best I can as the journey continues.

I choose this photo as it reminds me of a magickal moment in time when I was swimming with dolphins underneath me.

Mayan Daykeeper Imix: The essence of Imix is the beginning of a cycle. The start of one dividing into many & yet still being part of the one. Imix is the one.

Imix often manifests in human reality as the ability
to remain in the present moment without concern for the past and future.
It can be recognized as a clear link to that which lies beyond the mundane.
Imix offers the ability to transcend time
and to refrain from having time oriented desires.

On a Imix day you may want to be less structured.
Make time for yourself that is free from previous commitments and obligations.
This is an opportune day to discover from within
what you truly want and where you truly want to go in your life.
It is a day to acknowledge that which lies beyond time.

People who are born on a Imix day are often dreamers
that lack the desire to succeed in more materialistic accomplishments.
They often come up with new ideas that others bring to manifestation.

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. If something resonates great, if not chuck it out. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey and manifesting what you want.

K’an is here today (Mayan Daykeeper)

K’an symbolically is the seed. The source, the catalyst for something new to come into being. Within humans it is the fire, the love, the creative energy of the heart.

4 – K’an      and     4 – Sacred Animals (Hyemeyohsts Storm’s Earth Count)

Okay on the surface these two didn’t have anything in common. However what came to me was the medicine of the animals, ‘medicine’ being the teachings they hold for us. How to be natural and what that looks like. That certainly is the catalyst for something new to come into being. A new you.

When I found out that my centre power animal totem was a dolphin (the animal I am most like in this lifetime), it was a revelation that I had a hard time believing. Dolphins are social, social, social, hmmmmm not exactly how I was. I’m still not very social, but compared to back then night and day. What that teaches me is that being social is something that will accelerate my healing journey and bring me into alignment with the greatest potential of who I am. Which is why I put myself into social situations that I may not necessarily wish to be in. Sometimes it is a success sometimes not so much, but each time I learn something new about myself and get better at it. Each time a new me walks out of that social situation, so K’an, yes you are present with the animals.

K’an manifests as an apparently destructive force
that eliminates or destroys what is complete.
An example of this is a burning forest that allows for new life to begin there.
K’an is also the feeding or fueling of this new life.
A K’an day is a good day to support and encourage new ideas or plans,
though they may not yet be recognized by others
and may not be ready to be acted on.

Those born on this day may carry or reflect
the potential of future accomplishments.

It’s a Chik’chan Day (Mayan Daykeeper)

The essence of Chik’chan is primal nature in all it’s naturalness. Simple instinct & knowing, when being in alignment with our true nature.

I  don’t know about you, but when I’m in nature I tend to be far more aware of all the sounds, sights & smells. I immediately become more in tune with my primal instincts, & in order to thrive in nature I need to be more in alignment with nature. When I used to be afraid of bees for example, goodness what a fuss. It wasn’t until I saw my little child mimic me that I started working on that fear, so as to not imprint it on her. Now bees, mayan daykeeper chik'chan, primal instinct, intuition, medicine, dolphin animal totem, HypnoArt, Pikabay, Healingthroughceremony.com, michele fire-river heartwasps, etc can land on me & everything is okay, they land, sniff me I imagine and move on. Hmmm I wonder if I’m still allergic to bee stings or if I was allergic because of my fear, not that I want to test that theory universe, thank you very much.

We can cross train this behaviour into our everyday lives, accentuating our ability to respond in any environment. So let your animal nature out folks, stalk out a wonderful Sunday for yourselves.

If you have been following my blog the information below is a repeat. Previous Chik’chan days this year Jan 8th, 28th, Feb 17th, March 9th, 29th, April 18th, May 8th, 28th

Chik’chan’s prescence may be experienced as a sensitivity to nature in its simplicity.
With this comes an ability to correct what has been altered from its natural state.
This is done to return to a relaxed state of being.
Your conscious awareness is then clear and uncomplicated.
Chik’chan days are good for accessing the deeper instincts of human nature.
Try doing something with your eyes closed or in the dark.
Distinguish between the fears that genuinely warn you of danger and those that complicate your life and keep you from trusting your true desires.

Those born with Chik’chan as their Daykeeper have a sensitivity to the simplicity within all things. They possess the ability to realign with the natural flow.
This can be done for themselves as well as for others.
They have the potential to be a healer when this ability is trusted and developed.

Mayan Daykeeper Ix

The essence of Ix is the ability of the spritual realm to link with the physical realm. An ability to communicate in both.

I wonder if it’s a learning curve when you’re in spirit, just like for most of us anyway, we need to practice communicating in both physical & spiritual realms.  Will anyone in spirit be communicating with you today? Will you be communicating with anyone in spirit today? It may be interesting to ask the question about communication. I would love to hear the responses in the comments section. Perhaps their answers will be as varied as ours. I’m off to have a chat with my power animal totem the dolphin & see what she says.

As with all things find your own truth. What resonates use, what doesn’t discard.

If you have been following my blog the information below is a repeat from our last Ix day, Thursday 27th April.

Ix may manifest as an awareness of spirit
and what may be considered supernatural.
On an Ix day, you may want to be more open
to messages from the spirit world.
It is a good day to contemplate who you are
in dimensions of life other than just the material and physical.

Those born on an Ix day
have the ability to perceive the spirit within.
They can respond to this spirit
and receive it’s communication while in the physical world.

THE MAYAN DAYKEEPERS

The Mayan Daykeepers are spiritual beings with an archetypal energy within cycles of the Tzol’Kin or Mayan astrology. There are 20 Daykeepers each one presenting different energies & assigned to be present on certain days of the year. Rotating in a twenty day cycle.

I have found that having an awareness of which Daykeeper is present on any particular day, informs me about the active energy present that day. In this way I have more ease, fluidity & healing in my journey.

I offer a snipit of the knowledge presented in the book Mayan Calendar Voice of the Galaxy by Raymond Mardyks and Stacia Alana-Leah. They present comprehensive information on the way the calendar works, the energetics of the Daykeepers, the iconography of each Daykeeper, the symbol of each Daykeeper, meditations with the Daykeepers, as well as your personal birth Daykeeper.
