Animal totems are numerous and varied, beliefs about how many we have and what they do, are just as varied. I present what I have been taught and experienced. Trance drum journeys are a way to find your animal totems, be it just one or many. I facilitate drum journeys. Should you be interested in doing one, contact me & we’ll set up an appointment for this magickal experience.

So what are Totem Animals and why would you even want one? Animal Totems are animal spirit allies, on your journey in this lifetime. They give you advice when asked for, and answer questions you have. They can support you when you’re scared, help empower you, clarify things, show you the next step in your healing journey, walk with you as a trusted companion and more. There are 9 Animal Totems, one in the centre and 8 around your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel. Are they real animal spirits? Well I don’t think it matters one iota if they are or aren’t, what you imagine you create. Whatever you believe and experience is your truth. It is the wisdom & knowledge you get from them that matters, not whether you believe that it’s an animal spirit or a part of your own psyche.

Mayan Daykeeper Ak’bal ~ Ak’bal’s essence is recreation, the beginning of something due to the old & the new coming together. Every moment is created by combining something from the past with something new.

Ak’bal manifests as a completion and the natural beginning
that immediately follows.
Ak’bal’s presence is like a mystery being revealed.
It happens only after something else, something necessary, happens first.
Ak’bal guides what and when something is revealed, as it comes to light out of the darkness or from the consciousness from the unconscious.

Ak’bal’s day is for revelations and for the next generation of truths to manifest.
Be open to new messages or information appropriate for the
immediate present or future, but not for the past.

Those who are born on an Ak’bal day are dreamers and visionaries.
They desire to bring forth something new in the natural evolution
of what is becoming outdated or complete.

Balance with Grandmother Earth ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Manik

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. If something resonates great, if not chuck it out. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey and manifesting what you want.

On Sept 21st Mayan Daykeeper Imix brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days. This cycle we are looking at creation through imagination. The relevant daily information on today’s Mayan Daykeeper is below todays musings.

We are creators of our lives, what we imagine we create.

We are looking at ‘The Twelve Imaginings’. The were given to Hyemeyohsts Storm by Estcheemah. She was a Zero Chief. Hyemeyohsts wrote these down in his book Lightningbolt. What is a Zero Chief? My understanding is the Zero chiefs were a secret group of people that keep the spiritual & healing knowledge of the Native Americans when it needed to go underground, to preserve it and keep it safe due to colonization. Now I could be wrong, but there it is, make of it what you will.

We will do an imagining a day for 2 days. On the third day I will add an imagining of my own. You are invited to add imaginings of  your own in the comments section on any day. On the 20th day of the cycle I will list all the imaginings that have been submitted.

I imagine that humans live in balance with Grandmother Earth ~ (Michele’s imagining)

I invite you to sit with this imagining, and see what it means to you.

Here’s some of what it means to me:
~ Earth’s human created wounds have healed
~ Resources are not owned
~ Food is grown in small communities
~ We take only what we need
~ Energy is self-sustaining
~ We are grateful for what Grandmother Earth provides

Earth, grandmother earth, food gardens, mayan, daykeeper, manik, evolution, growth, future, powerful, potential, accomplishment, healingthroughceremony.com, michele fire-River Heart, death, rebirth, past lifetimes

Mayan Daykeeper Manik ~ Manik’s essence is the connections between actions in the now affecting the future. The evolution & growth towards something greater.

Manik’s presence may be experienced as a connection to the future.
You may feel that what you are involved in
is leading to something bigger and better.

Manik’s day is good for preparing and being ready for what is still to come.
You may need to trust the process and wait a while longer
before realizing the outcome of your involvement and contribution.

Those born on a Manik day may experience
a sense of being important for the future,
being ahead of their time
or carrying something for future generations.

The 2nd Imagining ~ I imagine that life is challenge & giving – otherwise I would not be experiencing the presence of life and Her Balance

Challenge affords us the opportunity to take part in life & find out the truth of things. Giving  affords us, all the planet provides, that sustains & engages us. Put the two together and we have our life experience her on beautiful Grandmother Earth.

I invite you to sit with this, and write down what this means to you.

Here’s some of what that means to me:
~ I live in abundance
~ There is no end to places I can explore
~ Nature teaches me about challenge, giving & balance
~ My life is rich and fulfilling
~ Seasons offer me the opportunity to understand & live within the rhythms of nature
~ Animals mirror what I need to accept & bring into my life

Imagination, blackberries, thorns, mayan, daykeeper, Ak'bal, death, rebirth, healingthroughceremony.com. Michele Fire-River Heart
Mmmmm blackberries, the challenge is to harvest them without too many thorns ripping your skin. The giving is obvious, the plant makes these berries specifically to give them away.  The seeds will not be viable until they have been abraded in a bird’s gizzard or eroded by digestive acids. Then water and air can enter the seed and germination can begin. So whoever/whatever eats the blackberries is giving back as well.

The 1st Imagining ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Ik

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. We are creators of our lives, what we imagine we create.

We are going to look at something call ‘The Twelve Imaginings’. The first imagining ~ I imagine men & women are equal.
My version: I imagine all people are equal regardless of gender

Imagine, people are equal, Mayan, daykeeper, Ik, expansion, birth, burst, air, release, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heart

I invite you to sit with this, and write down what this means to you.

Here’s some of what that means to me:
I am seen
I am heard
All opportunities are available
Emotions are considered natural
No one has fewer rights than another
My daughter doesn’t face discrimination & violence due to her gender

Mayan Daykeeper Ik ~ The essence of Ik is birthing through growth, literal & metaphorical.

Ik can manifest in the human experience as
impulses, actions or behaviors that seem
out of character or out of control.
Ik days provide an opportunity to
push beyond your accepted beliefs or those of society.

It is a day for revelations and the realization
that there is more that exists beyond the boundaries we create.
Expand your boundary voluntarily
and be open to new possibilities and unexpected opportunities.
Consider doing something different and unusual
for who you believe yourself to be.

Those born on an Ik day
bring influences from outside to their group or family
that stimulate growth in new directions.

The Interconnection of Care & Grandmother Earth ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Ik

Your interpretation and experience of these energies is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to explore what they mean to you and their relevance in your life. This is really important. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey.

This cycle I am looking at the interconnection between The Twenty Great Teachers of Life and The Earth Count. Let’s see what their interconnection has to teach us. The relevant daily information on each energy is below todays musings.

Interconnection between Care and Grandmother Earth ~ Well for me this is a no-brainer. Grandmother Earth cares for everything upon her, us included. When we live in balance we have everything we need. When looking from the perspective of self-acceptance this connection is brilliant. Anyone who works in gardens knows that some things die and others just appear out of nowhere and start to grow. That whenever you leave bare soil, vegetation rushes in to fill the void. The garden doesn’t judge death as wrong or birth as right it just is, what is …… acceptance.

Change is one thing you can count on, death & rebirth in all forms is natural. When you can accept this about yourself and your life, things go a lot smoooooother. All your Care, Teacher, Mayan, daykeeper, Ik, expansion, birth, burst, air, release, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heartshoulds, musts, wishes & wants are a waste of energy and change nothing for the better. They limit you and your experience in this earth plane keeping you stuck in a loop.

So today I invite you to let go of just one piece of negative internal dialogue that is running around in your head. Open a door and just let it out each time it comes up, give it the boot. Something that helps me, is to imagine someone else saying these things to me, I would not allow it. It puts into perspective what I am saying to myself, which helps me let it go and be gentle with myself, and increase my self-acceptance. Easy does it, practice, practice, practice until that piece is replaced by a more positive pattern.

2 – The Second Great Teacher is Care
Care teaches us about self-acceptance

Self-care, a very bandied about word, that perhaps has lost it’s meaning due to this. If we look at care from the perspective of care for another does that reframe self-care for us? When I care for another person, I have love for them, want them to be safe, happy, have love, have their needs met, mentally, physically, spiritually. Have a safe home, friends that care about them, support them, stand by them even when the going gets tough or is not pretty, forgive them when they screw up. I hope they heal where needed, have courage to do what needs to be done, have strong boundaries. I hope that no harm comes to them and that they have a juicy life that feeds them on all levels. Now can I do that for me? In my paradigm that is self-care.

Now I ponder how does care teach us about self-acceptance? Let’s see, if I cannot forgive myself, it follows that I do not accept myself. If I cannot love myself, it follows that I do not accept myself. If I do not stand by myself, it follows that I do not accept myself. If I doCare, Teacher, Mayan, daykeeper, Ik, expansion, birth, burst, air, release, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heart not have strong boundaries, well I probably do not feel I deserve to honour myself & it follows that I do not accept myself. If I do not care about myself enough to do what needs to be done, it follows that I do not accept myself. If I beat myself up when I make mistakes, I do not accept myself. If I expect myself to be perfect then I do not accept myself. Etc.

~ So can You care about yourself as much as you care for another, your child, your pet, your plant?
~ What is one thing you can do today for yourself, that is caring, that you normally don’t do?

2 – The Two ~ TWO is the number for the EARTH
The SecondBorn from Sacred Zero was Two. The Two exists in the West of the MedicineWheel, the place of the Colouring of Time.
~ The West is the dancer called Earth. (Hyemeyohsts Storm’s Earth Count)
