Love, Love, Love ~ Mayan Daykeeper Ahaw

This 20 day cycle is completed today. Tomorrow brings a new cycle, what is to come? Haven’t a clue, let’s wait and see shall we.

Love, love, love, love, love: 5 is the number for Sacred Humans, and what permeates our love, love is, medicine wheel, shamanism, mayan, daykeeper, ahaw, cycles, time, completion, end, all-seeing, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heart lives is love. We all want to be loved and I’d hazard a guess and say we all experience love at some time or another during this lifetime. Why this intense desire for love, why can’t we just be happy without it? Perhaps love is the catalyst for personal growth, the glue that holds the fabric of all our interconnections, all our opportunities of self-discovery and living a juicy life in balance.

~ Parents/Primary Caregiver(s) catalyze our being into this lifetime, and what a bond. As love, love is, medicine wheel, shamanism, mayan, daykeeper, ahaw, cycles, time, completion, end, all-seeing, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heartparents we can’t help but fall in love with our children and as children the longing for parental love and acceptance dominates our emotional landscape for a very, very long time. For some it is a lifetime, for some it never gets resolved, for some parental love is absent. However in all cases the longing for parental love is present from what I’ve seen.

~ Life Partner(s) give us an experience of love that is the most intimate and passionate, well at the beginning anyway. Just like that first sip of coffee, first taste of ice-cream, first line of cocaine we chase the high of that experience. Oooh I just felt a whole lot of you cringe at that last analogy. However that beginning phase of ‘falling in love’ is very addictive. We go from that into the sober experience of relationship with our partner(s) and that’s when the mind clears for better or for worse. (pun intended)  Life partner(s) help us resolve issues from our childhood. They mirror for us, what needs to be seen at that moment in our journey of self-discovery. How often have we heard of someone picking the same type of partner over and over again, when from the outside it looks like it is to their detriment? Until they learn and heal the issues that are offered by being with this partner, they continue to get the opportunity to do so. So if you’re in a crappy relationship, look deeply into yourself. What needs to heal within you, what needs to change, what needs to be released, so that love can once again be a daily experience in your relationship with a partner(s).
love, love is, medicine wheel, shamanism, mayan, daykeeper, ahaw, cycles, time, completion, end, all-seeing, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heart

~ Siblings offer us the opportunity to discover who we are as we grow up. So whether your siblings are biological, or not, or are other children you grew up with in the same home, you were/are dramatically influenced by those relationships, and the love or lack thereof within them.

~ Animals: Even though I do not have a pet I automatically smile when I think of animals, and I imagine this is true for most of us. Why? From my perspective; unconditional love. That sweet, pure elusive love that rarely comes from humans, is automatically perceived to be given by animals. Particularly those that live with us. What a gift it is to experience this kind of love.
love, love is, medicine wheel, shamanism, mayan, daykeeper, ahaw, cycles, time, completion, end, all-seeing, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heart

~ Grandparents can be a wonderful experience of love. These blood relatives know what it is to be parents, but with their grandchildren, have the opportunity to love without the responsibilities of parenting. (Unless of course they are the primary caregivers, in which case they fall into the parental category of love.) How often are grandparents the ones that treat us and facilitate us doing things that are ‘not allowed’. With the freedom they have from mundane parental responsibility they are often the image-makers in our lives that expand what we thought was possible.

~ Friends: ever noticed the emphasis our society attributes to how many friends you love, love is, medicine wheel, shamanism, mayan, daykeeper, ahaw, cycles, time, completion, end, all-seeing, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river hearthave? Do we associate that with how much love we have to give and are given? I’ll leave you to answer that from your perspective. I have noticed that the friends we surround ourselves with are reflections of ourselves. Birds of a feather flock together. When we dramatically change all of a sudden our circle of friends does as well. Friends provide us with mirrors of self-reflection. The more they are like us, the greater our opportunity for self-discovery.

~ Self-Love, ouch this is the one from my perspective that is the barometer of our ability to love. Can you love yourself enough to honour your boundaries, beliefs and needs? Can love, love is, medicine wheel, shamanism, mayan, daykeeper, ahaw, cycles, time, completion, end, all-seeing, healing through ceremony.com, michele fire-river heart you love yourself enough to accept your internal challenges and your mistakes? Can you love yourself just as you are now, warts and all? Can you love yourself first and say no when it does not serve you?

~ Children offer us a glimpse of innocence, of naturalness, for a lot  of us a mirror of things lost. Over and above our biological love of children in order to sustain the human race, we love that mirror of who we were before life happened and we adapted to survive. Deep down I believe we are aware that this is how we are meant to be in order to be happy and balanced within our own being. Ever noticed that when you play with children, the world fades away, and you are present. Just present not trying to be in the moment, you just are there. As children this was not hard, this was natural. The more childlike we become, the easier life gets. Why? Flexibility, lack of judging, lack of reruns of past history, and imagining scenarios that may or may not happen. We just are, nothing more, our internal world is peaceful and quiet.

~ Spirit: when we engage with the world of spirit, we engage with ourselves. We are after all spiritual beings experiencing a human lifetime, in order to heal and grow, to remember our true nature. Well this is my belief at this moment. I leave you with your own. What is it you believe about spirit?

Mayan Daykeeper Ahaw ~ The essence of Ahaw is completion, culmination, realization, integration.

Ahaw may be experienced as a sense of completion.
This experience may include understanding
the causes and effects that led to this moment.
Ahaw offers the awareness of how completion
relates to the entire cycle of life.

Ahaw’s days are opportunities to see situations
as they fit into the bigger picture.
It is a good time to consider the necessity of certain events
and their involvement in something larger than their immediate effects.

People born on a Ahaw day are sensitive to the cycles of time
and respect the importance of being timely.
They naturally accept that everything plays a part
in something greater than itself.

When I was growing up there was this lovely cartoon series created by New Zealand cartoonist Kim Casali. (Loveiscartoon.com) I remember waiting for the newspaper to see what the cartoon was that day. It is one of the few things that stuck in my memory about that time in my life. So I’m taking a leaf out of her book, sans cartoons to illuminate my thoughts about love in the upcoming blog posts. Some you may agree with some you may not, it is just my opinion, you have your own and that’s as it should be.

Mayan Daykeeper Kawak ~ The essence of Kawak is immediate transformation. No heads up, sometimes a change that we don’t even notice happening, it just all of a sudden has happened.

You may experience Kawak
as an immediate shift in consciousness,
a powerful force or a loud violent noise.

On a day with Kawak as Daykeeper,
you are invited to acknowledge and respect life’s mysteries and
all that is beyond your power and control

Those born on a Kawak day
feel a part of something that is beyond normal consciousness.
Their deepest motivations often remain a mystery even to themselves.

Mayan Daykeeper Etz’nab ~ The essence of Etz’nab is letting go. Releasing what needs to go in order to birth something new. Sometimes this will be dramatic other times gentle, either way change is the order of the day.

When present, Etz’Nab may stimulate
a powerful awakening to anger and the need for change.
It can appear as rage or the destruction of an old form.
Through sudden events and changes,
Etz’nab may provoke you to be more present in the moment.

Etz’nab days provide an opportunity to detach from
obsolete motivations and future expectations.
You may want to voluntarily arrive in the present moment.
Recognize that when someone or something outside you
appears to interrupt you by demanding your attention,
you are being invited into the moment.

Those born with Etz’nab as their Daykeeper
are people who recognize and express the need for change.
Their actions often challenge the status quo and
can create change for themselves and others.

Mayan Daykeeper Kib ~ Kib’s essence is solitude.

You may experience Kib as the need for solitude or the desire for separation.
Being alone is often necessary to unwind
from intimate or entangled interactions with others.
Kib’s gifts are given to those that can be alone with themselves.

On a day with Kib as Daykeeper,
you may want to find time to be by yourself
or focus on what you can do by yourself alone.
It is an opportune time to separate yourself
from people and things that no longer serve your current needs.
You may feel much better after bringing certain things to a final conclusion.

People born on a Kib day often experience
their most profound revelations in solitude and usually work best alone.
Even in the presence of others
they are able to maintain an independent awareness of self.

Mayan Daykeeper Ben ~ The essence of Ben is our connection to our ancestral lines. Ben is that feeling of family, the warm cozy one. I know that is not true for all of you, however families are created in many ways, through blood, through choice, through friendship.  In all cases you have an opportunity to learn from your interactions with your families.  Ben holds the energy of interdependent family relationships not co-dependent ones.

Ben expresses in the human experience as
the awareness of family, including both ancestors and
the future potential of the family.

On a Ben day, there may be a general focus on the family
or other dependent relationships.
You may feel more intimate with others around you.
Be careful not to engage those close to you in obsolete family patterns.

Those born with Ben as their Daykeeper
are often responsible and devoted family members.

I encourage you to add your own in the comments sections & I will add them in.

Mayan Daykeeper Muluk ~ The essence of Muluk is the interdependence & connection between all things

Your experience of Muluk may include feeling a sense of debt,
a desire for unconditional giving or an unwillingness to give.
A day with Muluk as Daykeeper is a good time to consider
what is needed to maintain productive and agreeable relationships.
Demonstrate your appreciation and fulfill your obligations
to those that support you.

Those born on a Muluk day must rely on others to fulfill certain responsibilities.
They also need to be involved in the projects of others.
They are often most successful as team players.

Your interpretation and experience is your own. I can only share my personal understanding, I invite you to find your own truths and their relevance in your life. This is really important. If something resonates great, if not chuck it out. We gain nothing by ‘taking on’ others life experiences and beliefs. The juice and healing comes from within your own understanding, it is pivotal for your healing journey and manifesting what you want.

Mayan Daykeeper Manik ~ Manik’s essence is the connections between actions in the now affecting the future. The evolution & growth towards something greater.

Manik’s presence may be experienced as a connection to the future.
You may feel that what you are involved in
is leading to something bigger and better.

Manik’s day is good for preparing and being ready for what is still to come.
You may need to trust the process and wait a while longer
before realizing the outcome of your involvement and contribution.

Those born on a Manik day may experience
a sense of being important for the future,
being ahead of their time
or carrying something for future generations.

Love: Siblings ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Kimi

Love: Siblings sit in the South of the Love Medicine Wheel

Siblings sit in the south along with trust and innocence, emotions, self-expression, self-discipline, leadership, impulse control and reality. These are many of the things that form who you are.  So whether your siblings are biological, or not, or are other children you grew up with in the same home, you were/are dramatically influenced by those relationships, and the love or lack thereof within them. I never know what will come until I start writing, and I have to say the sheer quantity of this one surprised me. Siblings and love is apparently bigger than I thought in my world. Imagined reality versus reality. These surprises are always interesting to me.

Interconnections on other medicine wheels:
~ Trust and innocence: Childhood is the time when our trust and innocence starts out unscathed
~ Water: Siblings who share a womb are very connected by water, as are all children. We grew in our mothers womb, lots of water there
~ Sacred Plants: Plants for most of us, are the first things after mothers milk/formula that we eat as infants. They become a part of us, nourishing & sustaining us
~ Love: No matter whether we are close to our siblings or not, the love that binds us is usually one of the strongest in our lives
~ Self-expression: Siblings offer us mirrors to discover & play with self-expression. They are after all from a primal perspective the competition, for our parents nourishment in all forms. To be different or the same as the child who is favoured can have a dramatic effect on a childs choice of self-expression. The politically correct illusion a lot of parents create, that all their children mean the same to them …. well from experience we know that more often than not, it’s a fantasy. It’s not right or wrong it’s just human nature, try as we might to fight against it. Children that are mirrors for who we are, might be more challenging for us, than children that aren’t. Hence we have an affinity for the child that doesn’t push our buttons in the same way. Children are just like any other human being, in part here for us to heal and grow. My child more than anyone else has had the greatest effect on my healing journey. Then the teen years come and holey moley, dramatic changes take place in self-expression, as children separate themselves from their parents identity to form their own. In addition we know from scientific exploration that sibling birth order plays a role as well.
~ Pain: Often our first experiences of physical and emotional pain are due to our interactions with siblings. Siblings when young seem to be competitive by nature.
~ Death: The death of pieces of the self often occurs, through our interactions with siblings
~ Impulse Control: Well I think this one is a no brainer. We learn and play with impulse control with siblings. We learn to share, to not think only of ourselves, to follow or not follow the ‘family rules’. The places where I needed to do the most personal forgiveness work relating to my siblings, was around lack of impulse control.
~ Self-Discipline: This goes hand in hand with impulse control, self-discipline is the brake we learn to use, to attain impulse control
~ Leadership: From first born to last, we learn about leadership. Who’s going to be the leader, is a common decision in childhood, conscious or not. Whether it’s playing a game, or who’s going to ask mom/dad for …… First borns in particular often have leadership thrust upon them.
~ Reality: Our personal realities are very different as siblings. I remember when I was younger, my sister asking me why my mom pushed my buttons so, and why I reacted like I did. (It wasn’t pretty!) One of the reasons she didn’t understand my behaviour was we have a very different perspective and therefore reality. Not one sibling has the exact same parent as the other. Our parents change just as we do. Who my mother was with her first child me, 8 years before my sister was born, was a very different person than the mother my sister knows. Add into the mix how different we are as individuals, well hello our realities are like chalk and cheese. It’s not good or bad it just is.
~ Personal History: How much of the personal history that you carry, has to do with your siblings? Enough said.

Mayan Daykeeper Kimi ~ The essence of Kimi is death of the physical body in this lifetime. Kimi invites us to look at all aspects of death. Make death an ally, rather than an unknown fear.

Those affected by Kimi’s presence may be aware of ancestors,
both their own and those of others.
Kimi may bring to your awareness the immortal spirit
within and beyond the human body.

On Kimi days, you may choose to remember ancestors,
appreciate what has been passed on to you
and remember that a part of you lives on forever.

Those born with Kimi as their Daykeeper
are capable of clarifying the meaning and purpose of death
through discovering the gifts of humanity’s ancestors.
They respect those that have gone before them
and often give voice to those whose voices are no longer heard.
