Dreaming for Balance ~ Instant Gratification

Day 1 of  Dreaming for Balance: Today’s theme is INSTANT GRATIFICATION

Mayan Daykeeper Imix has brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days.
The essence of Imix is the beginning of a cycle. The start of one dividing into many & yet still being part of the one. Imix is the one. (Full info at bottom of post)

The word dreaming refers to our sleeping dreams and the awake dreamtime, our life when our physical bodies are awake. We are the creators of both.

In this 20 day cycle you are invited to use Trance Dreams/Day-dreams which occur through intent or sometimes spontaneously through meditation as a discovery tool. Every day You are invited to play with the theme presented. You may choose to intend on having a new awareness around this theme that day and just allow your subconscious mind to present you with an awareness during the day, or you may choose to do a meditation on the theme and see what comes. You may choose to do nothing and that’s okay too. Whatever you choose, I invite you to not make this ‘work’ but rather something to play with, something to explore. What you do with your findings? …… Well you decide the answer to that one.

The daily themes may be used to illuminate different aspects of your ego; the places where your masked ego is ‘on point’ and the places where your ego has become the transcended ego. Uncovering the masks that you took on to survive, and the places where you have taken off your mask and discovered the beauty of impermanence.

Impermanence is the nature of reality. Everything is impermanent, plants, animals, rocks, our bodies, Grandmother Earth, stars, our moods, and yes even our ego. Living in Impermanence is the state of being that is called the transcended ego. As you heal and change, integrating impermanence into your life, you gain freedom. Living from a place of impermanence, you are no longer at the Effect of Life and Others. You stand in the moment and take action, flexible and in control of your choices.

In everything there are positive and negative energies. The masked and transcended ego are just the ying and yang of that particular energy we call the ego. Neither is right or wrong, they are both just states of being where you can understand and learn more about yourself. With that understanding you are at choice, what action you take is up to you.

There are many types of dreams for various reasons. Some of which are Recapitulation Dreams which provide information for us to problem solve issues and questions about our daily lives. Prophetic dreams which give us information about the future. Trance Dreams/Day-dreams which occur through intent or sometimes spontaneously through meditation. Epic Dreams that show us other worlds, some are life changing and some magickal. The ultimate dream goal, is the Power Dream, where we have gained enough knowledge and ability to control our sleeping dream in order to manifest what we will in both the sleeping and awake dreams.

Mayan Daykeeper Imix: The essence of Imix is the beginning of a cycle. The start of one dividing into many & yet still being part of the one. Imix is the one.

Imix often manifests in human reality as the ability
to remain in the present moment without concern for the past and future.
It can be recognized as a clear link to that which lies beyond the mundane.
Imix offers the ability to transcend time
and to refrain from having time oriented desires.

On a Imix day you may want to be less structured.
Make time for yourself that is free from previous commitments and obligations.
This is an opportune day to discover from within
what you truly want and where you truly want to go in your life.
It is a day to acknowledge that which lies beyond time.

People who are born on a Imix day are often dreamers
that lack the desire to succeed in more materialistic accomplishments.
They often come up with new ideas that others bring to manifestation.

Dreaming Day 1 with Daykeeper Imix

Mayan Daykeeper Imix has brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days.
The essence of Imix is the beginning of a cycle. The start of one dividing into many & yet still being part of the one. Imix is the one.

Winter is here, and the new year with it. Wouldn’t it be nice to have more information with which to make decisions about your journey in this lifetime. One of the ways is through dreaming. The word dreaming refers to our sleeping dreams and the awake dreamtime, our life when our physical bodies are awake. We are the creators of both.

In our current 20 day cycle I invite you to explore and start to train your ability of  dreaming. Each evening before you fall asleep set an intent based on the essence of the Daykeeper present that day, each morning you will interpret your dream for a message.  There may be many messages in a dream, however let’s do baby steps. The most important thing to remember is NO-ONE can interpret your dream for you. I don’t care how many books or people say otherwise and here’s why. Dreams teach you through symbolism, your symbolism. If you see a horse in your dream, what does the symbol of a horse represent to you? A horse will represent many different things as a symbol to different people. So if someone else interprets your dream, you are getting their interpretation of the symbols in your dream from their perspective not yours. I don’t know about you, but I find no relevance in that.

Your dream creation, Your symbols, Your interpretation, affecting Your life.

Here are some steps that may help, use what you wish or don’t use any it’s up to you. Most importantly if you do not remember a dream that’s perfectly okay, there are days we remember and days we don’t. Be gentle with yourselves this is not a test, it’s an exploration. Exploring doesn’t always result in finding the pot of gold, sometimes the end of that darn rainbow is just elusive and that’s the way it goes. Have fun.

Before you go to sleep
~ Put a pen and paper next to your bed for easy access
~ Set an intent based on the current Daykeeper. Something that is relevant to your life that you wish an answer for.
I.E. for me with Imix: “My dream intent is to see one thing I can do to stay present in my daily life”
~ Write it down on you paper
~ Say it out loud just before you fall asleep

In the morning or any time you wake during the night. As you are waking up, in that time when you are aware of the dream and waking up
~ Intentionally remember as much of the dream as you can
~ Write down as much as you can using double line spacing, including how you felt/feel, emotions, colours, smells, etc. Write it as it comes, do not go into your head analyzing if it makes sense or is coherent, just write
~ Using your extra line spacing to write in, write down your interpretation of what each word means to you symbolically
~ When complete look for meaning, a message within your interpreted writing. Just one, finding all the messages and meanings can be overwhelming to start. If nothing makes sense, see if a certain word, symbol, feeling, emotion, smell or colour that jumps out and go from there. There is no right or wrong here, if you feel it’s relevant then it is. If nothing comes don’t stress or beat yourself up, just leave it for now and go about your day.
~ Ask for more of the dream or meaning be revealed to you during your day.

Other questions that may help:
~ What was my intent?
~ What is the feeling of the dream?
~ What is the general energy of the dream?
~ What was the most important object in the dream?
~ How does this dream relate to my intent?
~ Is there a symbol that sticks out from the rest? What does it represent to me in relation to my intent?

Wisdom: Patience ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Imix

Mayan Daykeeper Imix has brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days. I admit I was stumped, so I asked my Centre Power Animal Totem and what I got was ‘WISDOM’.

Winter is around the corner bringing the shortest day with it, but our daylight has already been waning for awhile now. It is a time for slowing down, introspection, quiet. The plants are sleeping, the birds have migrated, the snow is here or coming, bringing that delicious stillness to the forest.

Wisdom as a word, is I think not often used anymore. We’re all about gaining information at a fast pace. However wisdom is slow, it is acquired over time and through experience and even the word seems slow to me.

So I invite you during this time to go to your inner wisdom. That still place within you that speaks the truth, that holds wisdom you may not be aware of until you tap into it. For this 20 day cycle I will go to my inner wisdom, asking for just one word a day. I will then post the word and a photo. I invite you to take a moment, go to your breath, just focus on your breath with the intent of hearing your own wisdom of what you need to hear in relation to the word and the photo. If it speaks to you to write it down each day, or make a symbol, or a piece of art indulge yourself. Let’s see what unfolds.

Today’s word is PATIENCE

Mayan Daykeeper Ahaw ~ The essence of Ahaw is completion, culmination, realization, integration.

Ahaw may be experienced as a sense of completion.
This experience may include understanding
the causes and effects that led to this moment.
Ahaw offers the awareness of how completion
relates to the entire cycle of life.

Ahaw’s days are opportunities to see situations
as they fit into the bigger picture.
It is a good time to consider the necessity of certain events
and their involvement in something larger than their immediate effects.

People born on a Ahaw day are sensitive to the cycles of time
and respect the importance of being timely.
They naturally accept that everything plays a part
in something greater than itself.

This cycle I am looking at the interconnection between The Twenty Great Teachers of Life and The Earth Count. Let’s see what their interconnection has to teach us. The relevant daily information on each energy is below todays musings.

This 20 day cycle is completed today. Tomorrow brings a new cycle, where I am completely changing it up. We will look at creation through imagination? I invite you today, to watch what you imagine about that, and the story you create to explain what is to come.

The Interconnection of Patience & Completion ~ For me the connection here, is that whenever I need patience, it is usually due to something that I could choose to be irritated about. It is something I need to slow down for. When I no longer need to be patient whatever it was, has been completed. I am no longer on the ferry, I have accomplished a task, someone else is finished doing whatever they were doing that I needed to be patient for. (Yes I am a fire sign!) Hence patience and completion go hand in hand.

Herons are such wonderful mirrors of patience. I’ve seen them stand watching & waiting to get a fish for hours, truly masters of the art. When they get the fish the cycle is completed and they start all over again.

20 – The Great Teacher of Patience
Patience teaches us about tolerance of the differences

If you need to bring in more patience, move to an island! Living on an island you either gain patience, are cranky or you move. The first thing one notices is the pace, the pace here is slower. One of the ways one can tell a visitor or new islander is by their pace. They have a faster pace, expect things faster, can’t believe we deal with ferries and contractors that are so busy, it leaves your timing, at their discretion. I was this person, I had no patience when I arrived, zero, zip, none.  Now when I leave the island I can’t wait to get back. One of the reasons, pace, which in retrospect is quite amusing.

One of the biggest teachers of patience is the ferry. Ferries are slow, one has to wait in line for it to arrive, it may be on time it may not. Then loading is slow, crossing is slow, unloading is slow, and waiting to get back on to go home is slow yet again. The amount of practice opportunities are immense, and the ferries alone was a major factor in me being able to  slow down, I had no choice, I was dependent upon them and had no influence over them, so what to do? Accept and have patience.

Our little island is very tolerant of differences, yes we have patience for the most part, but we also engage with more people we know on a daily basis than in a city. It’s much easier to blow up at someone in a city and walk away than on an island. We live with each other, we depend on each other, we need to get along. So just like most of our moms taught us, we learn to share, to make up, to forgive, to be okay with other peoples differences. Gabriolan’s are an eccentric bunch and proud of it, and most of us I imagine have developed patience with the side effect being we not only tolerate people’s differences, we revel in it.
