Mayan Daykeeper Kawak ~ The essence of Kawak is immediate transformation. No heads up, sometimes a change that we don’t even notice happening, it just all of a sudden has happened.

You may experience Kawak
as an immediate shift in consciousness,
a powerful force or a loud violent noise.

On a day with Kawak as Daykeeper,
you are invited to acknowledge and respect life’s mysteries and
all that is beyond your power and control

Those born on a Kawak day
feel a part of something that is beyond normal consciousness.
Their deepest motivations often remain a mystery even to themselves.

When I was growing up there was this lovely cartoon series created by New Zealand cartoonist Kim Casali. (Loveiscartoon.com) I remember waiting for the newspaper to see what the cartoon was that day. It is one of the few things that stuck in my memory about that time in my life. So I’m taking a leaf out of her book, sans cartoons to illuminate my thoughts about love in the upcoming blog posts. Some you may agree with some you may not, it is just my opinion, you have your own and that’s as it should be.

I encourage you to add your own in the comments sections & I will add them in.

Brown Bear Birth Totem Animal ~ Today’s Daykeeper is Kawak

Brown Bear Birth Totem Animal: Aug 23 – Sept 22

Brown bears live (or used to live) in most forested regions of North America. It is an animal that knows how to look after its everyday needs and obtain whatever it needs to survive. It is primarily a carnivore but it is quite willing to eat whatever is available, including plants, fruits and insect. Brown Bears have the unique ability to reduce kidney function during hibernation, filtering out, breaking down, and reusing the wastes through other means.

Brown Bear teaches:
~ How to keep every day needs in balance
~ Its ability to spend long winters in hibernation, it teaches us how to go deep within and find our place of inner stillness
~ It helps us to awaken to our inner potential.
~ They are a symbol of discernment and discrimination, possessing the power to go deeply within to make well-founded and workable choices and decisions.
~ Brown Bear people show good judgment, courage and justice in their dealings with the world
~ They make fair and judicious decisions
~ Brown bears are “protector” animals because of their good sense to not be where trouble is and to move away from it if it comes near
~ Brown Bear people can be powerful speakers
~ They are spiritually attuned and quite simply and accurately convey what they genuinely know
~ They must watch out for their cynicism
~ They can dredge up unhappiness just to justify their negative feelings
~ When they realize what they are doing they are able to rebalance quickly
~ They tend to be cool and in control and show their love through actions rather than words
~ They like to see things happen and will move out any blocks that impede the process
~ They tend to be neat and organized and they love to eat!
~ They are curious yet quiet and when excited will express themselves eloquently
~ Brown bears are comfortable in both the physical and spiritual realms.

BIRTH ANIMALS:
~ Help you walk in balance
~ Shows you your heart capacity for love, the nature of your heart
~ How to express emotions and feel them
~ Helps you to be in the present moment emotionally, so you are present and not in past history

When we walk in balance we are connected to reality, the present moment. When out of balance we are in our personal history, living in the past or fantasizing about the future

Animal totems are numerous and varied, beliefs about how many we have and what they do, are just as varied. I present what I have been taught and experienced. Trance drum journeys are a way to find your animal totems, be it just one or many. I facilitate drum journeys. Should you be interested in doing one, contact me & we’ll set up an appointment for this magickal experience.

So what are Totem Animals and why would you even want one? Animal Totems are animal spirit allies, on your journey in this lifetime. They give you advice when asked for, and answer questions you have. They can support you when you’re scared, help empower you, clarify things, show you the next step in your healing journey, walk with you as a trusted companion and more. There are 9 Animal Totems, one in the centre and 8 around your Animal Totem Medicine Wheel. Are they real animal spirits? Well I don’t think it matters one iota if they are or aren’t, what you imagine you create. Whatever you believe and experience is your truth. It is the wisdom & knowledge you get from them that matters, not whether you believe that it’s an animal spirit or a part of your own psyche.

On Sept 21st Mayan Daykeeper Imix brought us back to the beginning of a new cycle of 20 days. This cycle we are looking at creation through imagination. The relevant daily information on today’s Mayan Daykeeper is below todays musings.

We are creators of our lives, what we imagine we create.

We are looking at ‘The Twelve Imaginings’. The were given to Hyemeyohsts Storm by Estcheemah. She was a Zero Chief. Hyemeyohsts wrote these down in his book Lightningbolt. What is a Zero Chief? My understanding is the Zero chiefs were a secret group of people that keep the spiritual & healing knowledge of the Native Americans when it needed to go underground, to preserve it and keep it safe due to colonization. Now I could be wrong, but there it is, make of it what you will.

We will do an imagining a day for 2 days. On the third day I will add an imagining of my own. You are invited to add imaginings of  your own in the comments section on any day. On the 20th day of the cycle I will list all the imaginings that have been submitted. Well folks tomorrow is the 20th day, and no-one has offered an imagining of their own. Life is richer with your thoughts. Doesn’t anyone want to share?

I imagine that connecting with the Spirit Realm is understood to be Natural (Michele’s Imagining)

I invite you to sit with this imagining, and see what it means to you.

Here’s some of what it means to me:
~ The fear & confusion around the spirit realm has dissipated
~ Greater information is being accessed by all
~ Our connection to those that have gone before us is still there & no longer a debate
~ Our future life choices are readily discernible & therefore much easier to make
~ Life is richer and full of magick

Imaginings, imagine, create, creator, spirit realm, natural,
